To TV Or Not To TV

I got rid of my television today. I bought one a while ago thinking it would be nice on my days off to watch sports or a movie or the news in the morning. But as I had this tv in my home I remembered why so many years ago Kathy and I made the decision not to have a tv in our home.

We gave up on broadcast television many years ago when our children were still young. Since then the content has not gotten better, but has gotten worse. Sex everywhere and curse words out of every mouth. As a Christian it became obvious that I could not live a life pleasing to Jesus while filling my mind with filth.

So I gave the television the old heave-ho today and it is off to the landfill where it belongs, with all of the other garbage.
